The
Program...
This is Palm, Inc.'s formal software testing program for products for
the Palm OS platform.
It involves rigorous testing by an independent software test organization
and review of the software to ensure it meets all Palm OS user interface
standards. This was previously known as the
"Platinum" program.
While the Palm-Powered program gives a high degree of confidence that
the software is error-free, and has an user interface compatible with all
other Palm OS software, it is not proof of either, but that the software
was successfully put through a standardized battery of tests and reviews
by an independent test organization. |

Which Software
Release?
Originally the Professional and Enterprise PDE.prc v1.12
release was tested in January 2001 against Palm OS 3.0 through 3.5 on a variety of hardware
platforms.
Version v1.92, released in January 2003, was tested against Palm OS
5, and includes extensions to support HiRes color screens. |

When building an application set in the Marietta PDE ™ software,
the applications meet the requirements of the Palm-Powered program as at
Jan 9th, 2001 and forwards If you want to obtain formal certification for your
application set, contact us for information and support in the process. |
Future Plans
The Marietta PDE™ software is continually being
upgraded and enhanced. We normally produce minor software updates
every 6 to 10 weeks and major updates every 4 to 6 months. If
a critical error is found, we will produce an emergency update to repair
the error.
The Palm-Powered testing process is lengthy and complex.
Marietta Systems provides in-house testing against the Palm-Powered test
suites on minor and emergency updates, and seeks formal re-testing on
major updates or on major changes to the user interface.
