CUSTOMER SALES AND RETURNS

The software supports sales and returns within the same delivery. Inventory is maintained by item number, and the items can be sold by item number, UPC/EAN or by entering a partial description.

Items can be sold by scanning or entering their UPC or EAN barcode. The software validates the entry and then retrieves the associated item number.

Items can also be sold by entering or scanning the item number.

For item selection using description, the driver enters the first few characters of the item's description and then selects the item from a list matching the partial description.

BARCODE SCANNING

Full use is made of the barcode scanner on the hand held computers for rapid, accurate entry of item numbers and UPC/EAN. When a barcode is scanned multiple times, the quantity sold is automatically incremented on each scan. The driver can override the computed quantity to enter a specific quantity.

CASE/UNIT CONVERSION

Each item can be set for single or dual unit of measure. Dual unit of measure items can be sold by either unit of measure, though each has a default selling unit of measure. The software provides case to unit conversion when posting to inventory. Where a customer has quoted pricing for an item, this also has a quoted unit of measure.

PRICE CALCULATION

The software supports multiple price levels for each item, with customers assigned a price level code. Quoted pricing is supported, where individual customers may have special prices on specific items. The quoted price overides the price level. The driver can override the computed price, but must enter the new price twice.

RECOMMENDED DELIVERIES

Each item normally delivered to a customer can have a recommended delivery quantity for that customer. The recommended delivery quantity is displayed whenever the item is entered. When the driver closes out the delivery, the software compares the recommended quantities and provides the driver with an over/short analysis display.
